M.D. Lydia Gurcheva

Dr. Gurcheva has graduated at the Medical University in Sofia in 1984 and in 1992 acquires a specialty in Haematology. From 1996 until 1997, she has specialized in treatment and cryopreservation of stem cells in Paris. Later she has completed qualifications in Berlin, Hannover and the Catholica University of Rome.

In 1997 she has taken part in the first bone marrow transplantation in Bulgaria. The medical society hence selected her for the title “Medic of the Year.”

Nowadays, Dr. Gurcheva is head of the laboratory and the stem cells bank at St. Lazar Maternity Hospital and is a respected member of our team.
