The main indices of the medical activity quality in a facility of this kind are the perinatal infant mortality rate and maternal mortality rate.
The perinatal infant mortality /PIM/ rate is calculated per 1000 live births. It presents the number of infant deaths during the period. This is the number of infant deaths within the period from 28th gynaecologic week to 168th hour after birth. This is the most important index of the level of obstetric and neonatological care in a healthcare facility.
Its value at our facility is only 4.9% compared to 12.3% for the country.
Especially indicative in this sense is the intranatal fetal mortality as an integral part of PIM. This is the number of infant deaths during the delivery itself. At our hospital, for the whole period of its functioning, this index is 0.
